$2,500,000 Loan for EnviRes Industrial Complex Phase I Development
EnviRes, LLC plans to develop as feedstock plant near the river in the southern part of East St. Louis for processing motor oil into asphalt extender (20% of output) and cracker feed charge (80% of output)
that is used by oil refineries to produce gasoline. The processing facility will be on part of a 20 acre site and will create 3 to 5 jobs.
$2,000,000 Forgivable Loan for the North Riverfront Industrial Corridor Land Assembly Initiative
Numerous studies and documented feedback indicate that the lack of assembled commercial and industrial land for business expansion creates a competitive disadvantage for the City of St. Louis. To reverse this condition, EZ funds will be used to develop two Business Parks and one business expansion area in the North Riverfront Corridor.
$1,500,000 Forgivable Loan for the Wellston Industrial Park
A 24-acre commercial and light industrial site will be developed through a collaboration of the City of Wellston and the St. Louis County Economic Council. EZ funds will be used for site acquisition, including purchasing vacant parcels and some occupied residential units.
$75,000 Grant for East St. Louis Riverfront Market Study
As part of an economic development planning process, the EZ funded a market study of the East St. Louis riverfront. It is part of a $575,000 riverfront plan funded by the City of East St. Louis and the US Army Corp of Engineers along with the EZ. The market study will help define a development plan that includes projects which the private sector and market economics can support.
$193,865 Grant for the North Broadway Riverfront Master Plan in St. Louis
St. Louis Development Corporation received the grant as part of the funding for Master Planning expenses. The North Riverfront area is of particular concern because of the large number of industrial companies located there and the impact of the new Highway 70 bridge over the Mississippi that is under development.
$1,500,000 Grant for the River South Recreation Area in Lemay
The St. Louis Economic Council was awarded this grant for the pre-development costs for the River South Recreation Area. The project involves the remediation of a contaminated former industrial site, the National Lead Site in Lemay, MO.
